A friend and I were doing the usual flitting between parties of a Saturday night.

We were traveling down a very quiet B road that had high banks and overgrown trees at the top. The banks were very steep approaching 6ft high on either side.

Being after midnight there were no other cars around and we were quite a way from any obvious residents.

I was driving with my light on high beam and decided to play the old 'Oh no, I think my car is going to break down in the middle of no where' gag.

I juddered the car to a halt and proceeded to keep trying to start the engine but not turning the key enough to let the engine actually catch.

As I was enjoying my friends discomfort, I glanced in the reaar view mirror. As my foot was on the brake the lane behind me was lit up about 20 yards or so.

I was suddenly aware that there was a figure walking towards the car. He looked of average height and was walking very casually. What struck me as odd was a) he appeared to have no facial features or hair b) I knew he must have a body but all I could see was the face moving towards us in striding motions.

My friend saw that I was no longer paying attention to him and looked behind me. Panic ensued as the car genuinely struggled to start.

Finally the car started and I dropped it into gear and buried the throttle. As we sped away all that could be seen was the face bobbing after us as if in a sprint to catch us.

When we got to civilisation. We discussed this in depth and know that we didn't pass anyone on that lane. We are convinced that the bank was too steep and the trees too thick for someone to of been hiding.

I have never done any investigation into the site or area, but will one day.
